Travel has always inspired how I approach design. Even in kitchen & bath design I personally  look for inspiration in architecture and nature.

It could be a shape or structure, a door, a window, how it is built, stairs or bridges, imperfection being perfect, it’s color or the combination of materials, textures, age, shadow and perspective.

Near our homes or far away…we can all be inspired if we look for it!

We live in the beautiful city of Vancouver and you will see some images I have taken here as well as abroad!

White remains hot in 2011!

When using only whites we advise to bring in interest through texture, shapes and splashes of interest.  This can be effectively achieved with art, furniture or found pieces that offer a story.  If your are afraid of color, white spaces can still be fantastic with the inclusion of other neutrals.  Try not to match everything!  Neutral spaces become more interesting  when there a little bit of  surprise or variety.

Living Environments  is now 1 year in this new studio space.  Granted, we were  in construction for the first 5 months!  The dust has settled and most of our beautiful displays are complete representing the highest quality in design using Downsview Kitchens & fine custom cabinetry.  We are more than just kitchens so please stop by and visit us at our new studio @ 78 East 2nd Avenue In Vancouver!
